Self-care is often reduced to comfort or consumption, but its deeper purpose is preservation. It protects the body, mind, and spirit that must carry us through work, relationship, resistance, and ordinary life.
Care will not always feel indulgent. It may look like a boundary, an appointment, a meal, a refusal, or asking someone else to help.
