Practice random kindness and senseless acts of beauty.
EQ NOTE
Herbert’s phrase began as an interruption of a darker expression about random violence. That reversal is part of what still makes it interesting. Kindness does not always need a plan or a role. Sometimes it enters because we notice an opening and decide not to pass it by. The act may be ordinary, but spontaneity gives it a different quality: care offered before obligation has time to claim credit for it. A day can contain more possibility when we remain available to those small openings.
What unexpected kindness would feel natural to you today?
