Doubt often presents itself as caution, which makes it easy to trust. Sometimes caution is wise. But there is another kind of doubt that keeps gathering evidence for why we should not begin. Eventually the decision feels as though it has been made for us. Shakespeare’s line catches that moment when fear stops protecting us and starts narrowing the life we are willing to enter.
