For the things we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them.

Some things cannot be understood from the sidelines. Thinking can prepare us, but eventually knowledge has to meet action. Aristotle’s point is simple: doing changes the learner. Practice gives us information that thought alone cannot supply. The awkwardness of beginning is not proof that we are unprepared; it is often part of how preparation happens.
